St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group

Moderated by Pam Ceo

New News
We have one new testimonial that gives personal experiences with PCa. Now have three.
There are also quite a few new links that get information on treatments, support groups, state coalitions, etc.
Our schedule will be updated.
This group was formed more than 14 years ago as support for prostate cancer patients and their families. It was noted that patients families suffer as much, yet in different ways as the patient themselves. Therefore the group has presented topics of interest on a monthly basis that allows spouse attendance. Occasionally there will be a roundtable discussion meeting that is only attended by the patients.

Topics of recent meetings have been 'Ultrasound advances', 'What is done when the cancer returns', 'Erectile Dysfunction', and 'The first cancer patient to climb Mt. Everest'. Discussion is encouraged from all parties, patient and support persons, with limited beverages and snacks provided.
